From Olu’s Desk ✍🏽
Hello investors, friends, and co-builders,
As we approach the final stretch of the year, I find myself reflecting on the milestones we’ve achieved and the lessons learned along the way. The entrepreneurial landscape is never without its challenges, but each hurdle presents an opportunity for growth.
This December, I’ll be in Cape Town engaging with founders and fellow investors. These moments reaffirm why we do what we do—not just to deploy capital, but to support the networks, ideas, and collaborations that drive sustainable progress across Africa. If you’ll be in town, I’d love to connect.
As we wind down 2024, I’m also reminded of the value of rest—not just as a pause, but as a necessary reset to recharge and strategize for what’s ahead.

🇸🇳 Ecosystem Meetup in Dakar

This month, we had the pleasure of hosting an ecosystem meetup with our friends at Impact Hub in Dakar bringing together founders, operators & key players from Francophone Africa’s tech ecosystem. It was an evening of meaningful connections, light bites, and thought-provoking conversations on building a more inclusive and collaborative tech landscape across Africa.
🚀 Founder’s Feature with Mudiaga Mowoe
For Mudiaga, building Matta wasn’t just about solving supply chain problems — it was about bridging gaps and creating connections where none existed. With over a decade of experience observing the struggles of Africa's trade landscape, he witnessed manufacturers unable to access the materials they needed, while suppliers struggled to reach the businesses that relied on them. Identifying this critical gap led to the creation of Matta
So, how did he get there? How did he turn this idea into Africa’s premier digital marketplace, connecting manufacturers with suppliers of chemicals, raw materials, ingredients, and commodities? In this feature, Mudiaga shares his journey of building Matta and triumphs of navigating life as a founder.
